Friends of the Angelina County Historical Commission Bylaws
Article I
Name
The name of this organization shall be The Friends of the Angelina County Historical Commission (FACHC).
Article II
Purpose
This organization shall promote the Angelina County Historical Commission, shall raise funds, and support the Commission in its efforts.
Article III
Membership
The voting membership shall be composed of those persons who are appointed to the Angelina County Historical Commission. Any interested person may become a non-voting member by request.
Article IV
Officers
There shall be four (4) officers in the organization who are elected at the annual meeting for two (2) year terms. These officers should be the same as for the Angelina County Historical Commission. These officers shall be:
- A Chair – who presides at all meetings, who sets the agenda for meetings, who names committees and who represents the organization on the Commission.
- A Vice-Chair – who presides in place of the president.
- A Secretary- who is responsible for minutes.
- A Treasurer –reports on funds, and writes checks.
Article V
Executive Committee
The officers shall form an executive committee and shall perform the business of the organization between meetings.
Article VI
Meetings
The organization shall meet annually, usually in conjunction with the first meeting of the year of the Angelina County Historical Commission
Article VII
Dues
Dues may be set by vote of the organization.
Article VIII
Quorum
Meetings will have a quorum with a simple majority of voting members present
Article IX
Dissolution
In the event of dissolution, the Friends of the Angelina County Historical Commission will distribute any assets to Angelina County for use by the Angelina County Historical Commission, or to a non-profit 501 (c) (3) historical organization operating in Angelina County.
